Bridging design & code to move fast, validate early, & build what matters, with AI as leverage.

Let me be the ace up your sleeve.

I design, build, and ship end to end: from first sketch to production code to the adoption numbers after launch.

Amy Chou

Who am I?

I'm Amy, a design engineer who loves turning fuzzy ideas into working products.

Right now I'm a design engineer on Spare's AI Platform team, where I own the design system and the AI skill that keeps AI-assisted code on-system. Off the clock I ship my own products: apps for smart glasses, an AI matchmaker, and a Vancouver community of people building with AI. I design directly in production code (React, Next, TypeScript) and ship my work as pull requests.

Experiments

I love to tinker.

My current obsession: smart glasses. I build apps for a display that floats in my field of view. Three of them run on my personal pair today, and you can play with live demos of every lens UI.

What people say about me.

I've had the privilege of working alongside Amy at Shift4, where she fundamentally transformed how our organization approaches AI. She started with the design team, then pioneered its integration across the entire company, becoming our go-to expert and evangelist for AI-driven innovation.

Every project Amy touches becomes energized with new possibilities. I've watched her tackle seemingly insurmountable blockers with creative problem-solving and a determination that inspires everyone around her, and she consistently turns that energy into real results for our customers.

She also became our AI educator, hosting weekly learning sessions that make complex concepts accessible to colleagues at every skill level. Amy combines deep technical expertise with genuine leadership and a commitment to lifting others up. Any organization would be fortunate to work with her.

Amy moved teams in the run-up to our summer release and wrapped her arms around the topic without question. I truly respect her focus and willingness to take on these topics, and I’m excited to work with her on bigger and broader topics going forward.

Product DesignTypeScriptLaunch Ops

Off the clock.

My favorite hobby is getting people building together. When I'm not shipping product or tinkering with smart glasses, I'm hosting a room full of people who make things.

Community

I run Vancouver Vibe Coders.

A meetup for designers, developers, and creative technologists who build with AI: hands-on demos, collaborative build sessions, and a room full of people comparing notes on what's suddenly possible.

Let's build.

I work with founders, product teams, and operators who need clarity fast, whether that's validating an idea, applying AI in a way that actually sticks, or taking a launch end to end.
